34 young people from Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Egypt, Greece, Italy and Turkey met in June 2003 in Cairo. They discussed various forms of urban living and lifestyle, urban planning and architecture, learning and working in urban areas and developed ideas for families and multicultural urban clusters. Additional aspects covered questions on energy supply in urban centers, ecology and urban mobility.
In May 2002, four young people from Stuttgart participated in an Egyptian project. Other participants came from Italy, Spain, Tunisia, Algeria and Jordan.
Between November 2001 and February 2002, IEIE and partners in Austria, Greece, Italy and Spain distributed free postcards on the introduction of the EURO as new European currency. This activity was one of the largest on the EURO.
In fall 2001, young people from eight countries discussed intercultural and inter-religious issues in Amman, Jordan. The main focus was on different attitudes between Arab and European countries. Participants visited religious and cultural places where they met local citizens to intensify their discussion.
Between March 31 and April 8, 2001, young people from Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary met in Stuttgart during a huge youth conference to analyse their change of language and usage of English as international language due to their use of the Internet and Email.
This training course was addressed to youth workers from Germany, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Cyprus and Austria who work with young people of different religious background.
In fall 2000 and spring 2001, IEIE presented „Smiles of Egypt“. This exhibition presented photos done by Matthias Megyeri during a youth exchange project in Alexandria, Egypt.
In May 2000, 28 young people met in Alexandria, Egypt, to discuss environmental issues covering protection of air, water and soil. This project was the first EUROMED-activity in Egypt.
In 1999 professional youth workers from six countries met in Stuttgart to discuss the role of peer youth in voluntary youth work.
30 participants representing eight countries met in May 1999 in Alexandroupolis in northern Greece to discuss issues of water protection in coastal regions.
In June 1998, young people from Egypt, Cyprus, Italy, Greece, Germany, Turkey and Spain who serve as peer educators in their communities met in Stuttgart to discuss methods of use of multi-media in international youth work.
In 1997 and 1998, IEIE and partners in Greece and Italy distributed more than 1 million free postcards holding information on the EU and its institutions.
In summer 1998, young professional youth workers from all over Europe met in Stuttgart to learn about the new guidelines of the European Youth Programme.
In April 1998 young Europeans met on the Italian island of Sardinia to discuss methods of intercultural communication and understanding.
60 women of all age groups met in summer 1997 in Stuttgart and Antalya to share professional experience and to learn about community work and political issues in both cities.
During 1997, IEIE and partners in Italy and Greece aired 30 different radio spots in three languages informing young people about the EU. Each spot was aired severals times a day for one week. 17 radio stations participated in the three countries.
Rappers and Hip-Hoppers from Latin America, Belgium, Germany and the Mediterranean met in Stuttgart in 1996 to develop lyrics and tunes for international rap projects.
